First long run of 09

Today I did a medium long run, first one for 2009. I ran 8 miles at a pretty comfortable pace. The weather was a little cold, 38 degrees but it was sunny and not very windy. I read yesterday to take 2000mg of vitamin C to prevent wheezing which I have been having a problem with, I think the vitamin C helped but it also messed up my stomach, guess to get something you have to give something. Trying to build a base to decide if I will train for a marathon in April, we will see how it goes.

  1. I hope your wheezing gets better. Do you have a dr. appt?
I ran 5 yesterday. I knew it was going to get cold today, so I squeezed it in yesterday. The downfall is that I was fighting a migraine all day. I kept the migraine at bay with advil. I took exedrine this morning. I was glad to get the run in. I ran around noon under a hot sun and against a pretty hard south wind. The run back was much easier than the 2.5 out. The temperature was perfect though. I was wishing I'd worn a short sleeve instead of a long sleeve. No problems with the 5 miles. It was the first 5 I had ran in several months. I did several 4s in the past couple of weeks. I got a lot done in my mind too. I loved it. 50 minutes all to myself! (Yes, I'm still keeping my steady 10 min. mile pace. No real aspiration to get faster.)

Kev ran 3 this morning on the treadmill. First time he's ran three in months. He's still unsure what he's going to do in April. I'm envious that he exercised this morning.... I'm taking the day off. Going to get this headache under control
